Adam is a software project management expert in his fifth decade of leading successful projects. Adam has mostly worked in the Internet, telecom, digital publishing, and social media domains, but more recently in financial and commercial systems. Adam has worked in both traditional and agile roles but brings elements of both to all projects.
Adam believes that project success flows from people thinking and working naturally together.
Adam gets projects done without project management “mumbo-jumbo.” Whilst methodology, technology, and process play their part, real success comes from facilitating a team to find a mutual expression of the desired outcome.
Adam Russell has been managing globally remote projects for four decades. The very first project he ever managed was spread over seventeen (17) locations on three (3) continents and five (8) countries. Throughout that time, Adam has been learning the ropes on how to mitigate time zone and cultural differences, distributed knowledge management and communications entropy. Technology has changed dramatically over that time, but many of the issues remain. In some ways the intensity of technology integration exacerbates issues into many people’s everyday lives. Adam brings this experience to you in this presentation. Adam has written and is in the process of writing a number of books on project management (covering both Agile and plan-based) and ChatGPT use, including one specifically on Agile Project Management. These books are available in Beta versions on the Leanpub.org publishing site.
