At the moment, I am a Research Professor of Economics and the Head of the Economics Department, at Bowen University, Iwo, Nigeria, where I teach and conduct research in Economic Sciences. I was an Associate Professor/ Reader at the Department of Accounting and Finance, Landmark University, Nigeria, where I taught and conducted research in Agriculture, Energy, and Financial Economics. I completed my Ph.D. in Finance at the prestigious Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria in the year 2017. I previously earned my bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria in the year 2006 and a Master’s in Banking and Finance, at the Department of Economics, Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria in the year 2010.
I have more than a hundred and fifty academic peer review publications with more than seventy (70) of them, indexed in SCOPUS/Web of Science. My papers had been published in reputable outlets like Bioresources Technology (Elsevier), Energy Strategy Reviews (Elsevier), Energy (Elsevier), Resources Policy (Elsevier), Energy Report (Elsevier), African Journal of Economic and Management Studies (Emerald), National Institute Economic Review (Cambridge University Press), Energies (MPDI), among others.
I was ranked as the number 8 topmost researcher in Business and Economic Sciences by the SCOPUS/SCIVA in Nigeria (2018-2023), and number 37 in Africa, and number 9 most productive economic researcher in Nigeria by the AD-Scientific Index ranking for two consecutive times (for the year 2021 and the year 2022). By the AD-Scientific ranking, I was ranked number 2 in energy economics and number 1 in financial economics. I was also ranked among the top 500 researchers in all fields in Nigeria, ranked 255, 119, and 75 for 2019, 2021, and 2022 respectively (by SCOPUS/SCIVA). In addition to my publication’s achievements, my papers have been read in academic conferences held at Harvard University, USA, Imperial College, UK, and a number of conferences held here in Africa. I also serve as a reviewer and Editorial Board member of several reputable academic journals. Besides, I am a member of the America Economic Association, America Finance Association, Africa Finance and Economic Association, and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, among others.
