I am Akshat Sharma, a Developer Advocate at Deskree, passionate about building meaningful connections between technology and community. With a strong foundation in programming, machine learning, and open-source contribution, I create tools and resources that empower developers worldwide.

In 2024, I was selected as one of 1,220 contributors from over 43,000 applicants in Google Summer of Code, and in 2025, I returned as a mentor—guiding contributors in Google Summer of Code 2025, Mifos Summer of Code, and Code for GovTech. My research journey has taken me to the University of California and IIT Indore, and I have authored 8 research papers in recent advancements and technology. I’ve presented at prestigious conferences including ICACIS 2023, ICNSBT 2024, C3IT 2024, Open Source Security Summit, Interledger Summit, and Bharat FinTech Summit. I have also attended major industry events such as Open SSF Community Days, Open Source Summit India, and KubeCon + CloudNativeCon.

Over the years, I have mentored more than 1,500 developers across national and international programs such as GirlScript Summer of Code, Kharagpur Winter of Code, and Winter of Blockchain, helping them navigate and grow in their open-source journeys. My work lives at the intersection of AI, open-source, and developer advocacy, driven by the belief that technology should be accessible, scalable, and impactful.
