I started programming when I was 15. After making some dough with a truly terrible Python trading bot (it literally automated the mouse to make trades) I was hooked. I went to college and joined a start up writing a low-level networking client in Scala. In college I developed a love for programming language and compiler design, and I ended up getting a concentration in compilers. This love blossomed into me learning literally 100s of languages, and ended up being my first introduction to Elixir.
In my senior year of college, I was offered a position at AWS writing embedded software for routers. I took it, and I hated it. I missed working at a startup, and more importantly, I missed working at a place that treated programming as a craft rather than a utility. I left after less than a year, and have been working at my current employer, Luna Care, ever since. Last year, I talked my boss into going all in on Elixir, and we've never been happier.
