I'll make you some software you can't refuse - The Codefather
Actions
Years of experience engineering products for major banking institutions, insurance providers, multi-media companies, fin-tech start-ups, and e-commerce giants. I'm a value-multiplier to support and enhance the entire product development lifecycle.
When I'm not at work I hone my skills working on personal projects that force me to expand my skills.
Other than that you'll find me flying the virtual skies and looking for interesting Craft Beers, or trekking through the woods shooting plastic animals using bow and arrow.
Delightful DSLs for adjacent use-cases
Most of us are pretty familiar with Kotlin's syntax and most obvious facilities that enable us to create DSLs to express our intent in a more readable and graceful way.
In this talk I intend to go a bit further than most: I'll be demonstrating how Kotlin's expressiveness can be applied to both user-facing and developer-facing code, and how some previously overlooked concepts can be applied to express our intent in really similar ways for use-cases that might not exactly match.
Going Fully Platform-Specific
We all know how Kotlin is progressively moving into a fully multi-platform world and trying to drag the rest of the industry with it kicking and screaming. However, there is still value to be found by fully embracing a singular platform, finding all the right (read: fun) technologies for your use-case, and uniting them into a harmonious whole.
This talk will take you on a trip from Kotlin into not just native code but also to utilizing GPUs and operating system functionality you would never have expected from a non-GUI JVM-based project.
If you're offended by any of the following technologies, this talk might not be for you: Rust, NVENC, VA-API, C-Headers, Quarkus
As this is a longer talk we will have a small break somewhere in the middle.
