Amish Desai is a Quality Engineering professional with more than 10 years of experience in quality systems, problem solving, process improvement, data analytics, and manufacturing quality. He currently serves as Staff Quality Engineer at Veeco Instruments, where he partners with field service and internal teams to identify systemic root causes, drive corrective actions, and improve quality performance.
Throughout his career, Amish has led initiatives involving 8D problem solving, CAPA effectiveness, FMEA deployment, quality metrics development, knowledge management systems, and continuous improvement programs. He has developed quality training programs, implemented quality dashboards, established performance metrics, and driven cross-functional improvement efforts focused on reducing repeat failures, customer complaints, and process inefficiencies.
Prior to joining Veeco Instruments, Amish worked at Micron Technology in roles including Manager, QMO Data Analytics, and Senior EPS Process Engineer. He was responsible for global problem-solving systems, KPI development, knowledge management initiatives, process improvement programs, and training related to quality methodologies. Earlier, he served as Senior Quality Systems Engineer at IM Flash Technologies, where he led quality culture initiatives, developed reporting and visualization tools, and drove improvements in operational quality metrics.
Amish holds a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Gujarat University, India. He is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP), ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), and ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
His technical skills include Power BI, Tableau, SSRS Report Builder, SQL, SAP HANA, Oracle, 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Kaizen, 6S, JMP, and Minitab.
