Amit Kumar Garg is a senior technology leader with over two decades of experience delivering business-critical technical initiatives at globally recognized companies, including Wayfair, Amazon, and Microsoft. His career reflects sustained leadership in high-stakes environments, combining deep engineering expertise with executive-level program management across cloud infrastructure, data platforms, consumer devices, and large-scale enterprise systems.
Currently serving as Associate Director of Technical Program Management at Wayfair, Amit is responsible for enterprise-critical initiatives that span cloud strategy, platform modernization, vendor partnerships, and organizational execution models. He has been repeatedly entrusted with recovering and delivering complex programs that have generated material revenue, improved customer experience, and had a reputational impact, including the successful turnaround of a stalled large-appliance launch, which earned direct recognition from Wayfair’s Chief Executive Officer.
Amit is the primary technical and execution owner for Wayfair’s Google Cloud Platform partnership and authored proposals that resulted in more than $11 million in direct Google investment. His work in database optimization and cloud cost governance has generated approximately $8 million in annualized savings while maintaining strict availability and performance requirements. He has also led the development of long-term technical roadmaps, data governance initiatives, and organization-wide operating models for Technical Program Management.
Before Wayfair, Amit spent twelve years at Amazon in progressively senior technical leadership roles across Lab126 and A9 Search & Advertising. He led end-to-end software and firmware delivery for mass-market consumer devices such as Echo Auto and other IOT devices, coordinated complex cross-functional dependency networks, and drove measurable customer experience improvements. Earlier in his Amazon tenure, his technical and experimentation initiatives in the advertising team contributed approximately $14 million in annualized revenue, establishing a direct link between execution excellence and business outcomes.
Amit began his career at Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer in Test, where he worked on Bing Search, enterprise monitoring platforms, and Windows system services, contributing original frameworks and automation tools that improved engineering efficiency and release reliability. Earlier, he also co-founded and led a commercial automotive services business, exercising full operational and technical leadership while developing proprietary software systems to support business operations.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Technical University and a Project Management Certificate from Colorado State University.
