Amy Jones Clay has a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Old Dominion University. She has been an elementary school teacher with the Norfolk Public School District for 19 years, having taught grades Pre-K through 3rd. She is also a published author and has been recently voted Teacher of the Year for her school.
Over the past 8 years, she has conducted workshops for teachers, childcare providers, and parents on topics such as: classroom management, behavior management, PALs instruction, phonemic awareness, oral language development, virtual learning, and summer reading.
She is also the Junior Chorale Director and the Director of the Sunday School Children’s Church Department at Norfolk Apostolic Church in Norfolk, VA. She is happily married with 2 daughters, a son, a godson, and a goddaughter.
Her goal in education is to build a strong foundation in young children for future academic success, and to promote good character qualities for all children in her care. She is also committed to equipping teachers with the knowledge and tools necessary to create a productive and successful classroom environment.
