Ana María Carrano is a journalist specializing in fact-checking, innovation, and access to information. She is the Managing Editor of Factchequeado, a media literacy and fact-checking organization dedicated to combating misinformation and closing the information gap for Latinos in the United States. She previously served as Senior Editor of elDetector, Univision’s fact-checking unit. She is a 2026 Solutions Journalism Network fellow and was previously a fellow with NAHJ’s 2025 ¡Adelante! program and Stanford’s 2014 John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship.
