In 2020, after over 12 years as a Video Analytics Systems Architect at Accenture in both France and Singapore, Swedish national Anders Åström decided to start his own IT business, Lyngon Pte. Ltd, primarily focusing on real-time and streaming processing.
Besides consulting and development services, often relying on Redis, Lyngon is developing tools and middle-wares for various niche processing needs, with the ambition of releasing as much as possible as FOSS.

RedGrease - Fast and easy distributed computation on Redis clusters.
RedGrease is a FOSS Python Redis Gears client and runtime package, greatly facilitating development of distributed computations on your Redis clusters.
It can be used for server-side automation of:
- Caching with write-behind/write-through,
- Control event-driven processing in a reliable way,
- Perform cluster-wide real-time data analytics, and
- Orchestrate AI serving.
- Prototyping custom Redis Modules
- .. and much more.
All by running Python code close to the data, distributed directly onto your Redis cluster.
It is still in early (alpha) stages of development, but currently includes:
- Basic Redis client, extended with the Redis Gears commands.
- Type annotated and documented versions of the Redis Gears runtime functions, readers, operations and commands, making writing Gears less error prone.
- Dynamic "Remote" GearsBuilder constructs, similar, but somewhat different in spirit and usage to the official client.
- Useful syntactic sugar and boilerplate functions, helpers and structures.
- CLI tool for (hot) loading of functions etc.

Prior experience of Redis Gears is NOT required.
There will be some Python code examples.
