With a BS in Manufacturing Engineering from UC Berkeley and a MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, I spent eleven years improving processes in aerospace before joining World Vision International to apply my expertise and experience in Lean and Six Sigma in the NGO context. I joined World Vision 15 years ago and Medair 5 years ago to help NGOs pursue Process Excellence by empowering their employees to improve how they work. I have seen first-hand and heard how Lean especially can transform individuals and working relationships, so that processes and organisational performance (impact) are dramatically improved by engaging everyone in continuous improvement.
