Investigating the mind of a citizen developer

You have heard about Citizen Development, Low Code, and No Code products. It's everywhere. But what about the making of a Citizen Developer? What does it truly take to transform into it? You are never too Jung to find out about the psychology of one.

Citizen Developers are not born, they are made. Through hell and fire, they are forged with heroic Change Managers who collaborate closely with Power Platform unicorns and Governance superheroes to drive a new wave of product development.

In this session, we will use the 5 stages of grief to mourn traditional IT product delivery and explain the psychological journey of getting your business to invest in Citizen Developers who can make meaningful solutions for their teams. From awareness to adoption, we are here to show you what the psychology of real change looks like.

Choosing between pro developers or business users or do we need both?

Citizen Developers versus Pro Developers is an argument we come across all the time in our modern workplace. The truth is that business users - citizen developers - are often the best placed to create a lightweight application for niche organizational needs. But in order to deliver the most business value, Pro developers and organizational IT need to set the citizen developers up for success.

In this session we will talk about how an organization can use Azure services, managed by their professional IT team, to develop rich business APIs that are then presented to the citizen developers within the Power Platform. We will show how Azure API Management can be used alongside Dataverse, and how citizen developers can then leverage those APIs in their business applications.

We hope you will leave the session with a spirit of cooperation: Citizen Developers will understand more about why they need the support of organizational IT, and Pro Developers will see where they need to deliver core services to enable the creation of lightweight business applications by their business customers.

The story of how I became a Citizen Developer public speaker!

In this session, I will talk about how I started speaking at conferences, and the journey that got me there. During this session, I will talk about the challenges I had. These challenges will sound familiar because everyone has their challenges. Whether it is in your work life or private life. Another awesome aspect I will cover is how great the community is and their mutual encouragement to speak and what I love about speaking.

I will give you my tips and tricks that helped me with speaking and how you can use these for your journey. Finally, I will talk about how speaking at a conference can be a great confidence booster that you need in your life.

So, if you have ever thought about speaking at a conference yourself, come join me at this session, and get started on your own journey!

The power of three: Mentorship, Community and Creating a Legacy

You know what they say: the Power of Three will set you free. When we participate in conferences, we are reminded how great our community is; with people sharing their knowledge and ideas to everyone being open for a discussion around the power of technology. You might be wondering how you could become an active member in the community yourself, but don't know where to get started.

This is where the Power of Three comes in. It starts with a mentor who can really help unleash your potential; from finding where your passion is, to setting up your first piece of content, and finding places to share this. Whilst finding a mentor is crucial, it is also important to find the right community where you would like to take your first steps. This is where you will explore your unique message, on the right platform, and with the right people.

In this panel discussion we will have several community members discuss how they first got started in the community, and how creating mentorship relationships helped them create a legacy for the whole community. All the panelists have a different background when it comes to experience and interest areas. But they do share one thing, their passion for people and empowering them to reach their potential.

The journey of a beginning citizen developer!

Do you want to start working with Power Platform but not sure where to start? In this session I will tell you about my journey becoming a citizen developer and will give you tips and tricks for your own course. This session is for anyone that is thinking about starting their journey.
