Ankit Pathak is a Senior Data Scientist at Meta with over a decade of experience applying advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to solve high-impact business problems across startups and large-scale organizations. He currently leads data science efforts for Instagram's App Platforms team, where he has built foundational infrastructure and productivity metrics supporting a large team of engineers, driving meaningful improvements in engineering efficiency.
Throughout his career at Meta, Ankit has worked across Finance, Monetization/Ads, and Platform Engineering, delivering impactful results such as developing machine learning models for invoice anomaly and fraud detection, and pioneering geo-experiments in partnership with Google that helped justify increased investment in advertiser acquisition. His work spans causal inference, experimentation, and lifetime value modeling, consistently translating complex data science into actionable business strategy.
Prior to Meta, Ankit held senior data science and analytics leadership roles at Walmart Labs and Tredence Inc., where he managed sizable analytics teams, led major analytics initiatives for Walmart's website and app redesign, and was recognized with internal awards for his contributions. He also co-founded and served as CTO of Adferns Media, a programmatic marketing startup that he helped scale from the ground up.
Ankit holds a dual Bachelor's and Master's degree (5-year program) in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad. He is skilled in Python, R, SQL, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, GCP), and a range of visualization and analytics tools, with deep expertise in experimentation, causal inference, and marketing/product analytics.
