Annette A. Opiyo is the Executive Director of the African Digital Rights & Governance Initiative (ADRAGI) and a digital rights and governance practitioner based in Kenya. Her work spans digital rights, data protection, digital identity, data governance, and emerging technology policy. She is interested in AI governance, responsible innovation, and research examining how digital technologies shape human rights, accountability, economic participation, and development across Africa. Through advocacy, research, policy engagement, and capacity building, she works to advance people-centred approaches to digital transformation. Through ADRAGI, she seeks to strengthen African perspectives in digital policy conversations and promote an inclusive, accountable, and rights-respecting technological future for the continent.
