Dr. April D. Dobson is a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a Senior H.R. Professional who served over two decades in the public sector for a myriad of government agencies and has extensive experience in Public Administration, Human Resources Management, Workforce Development, and Training.

April obtained a Master of Arts in Public Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Management of Human Resources from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska. She completed a Doctor of Management in Executive Leadership from Colorado Technical University (CTU) in June of 2016 and has taught as a CTU Adjunct Instructor since March 2017. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), Dr. Dobson had an integral role leading the Career Planning and Management course curriculum overhaul.

April received a Commissioner’s award in 2022, is a 2021 HCO Excellence Award Recipient, and a 2019 CTU Distinguished Faculty of the Year award Semi-Finalist. She values time with family; a few of her hobbies include writing, painting, and fishing. Dr. Dobson’s publications include A Guide to Unlocking Federal Employment, The Autonomous Career: Freedom of Time and Space in Your Chosen Workplace, The Impact of Civilian Workforce Talent Management on Organizational Consciousness in the Department of Defense – An Exploratory Study, and Adventures of Tally the Turtle, Tally Moves Away.
