April Lara is on a mission to ignite teacher passion! As the the CEO of a high-risk youth program in Chicago Public Schools, she saw the positive transformation in students once they were taught meaningful life skills typically missing from regular school curriculum.
Frustrated by the lack of tools and training available for educators and students, she wrote a book: Becoming Awesome! Life Lessons from the World's Greatest Leaders.
Rejuvinate! Igniting Teacher Passion followed as an adult SEL strategy training program to introduce and refresh educators own knowledge of SEL and life skills curricula.
April’s book and training program are for anyone who wants to prepare teens with the 21st century skills needed to succeed and maximize potential.
As a speaker and workshop leader, April inspires others to open up to the miracles in their life. She holds a BSBA degree from Aquinas College. A lifelong Cubs fan, April lives in Chicago just a mile away from Wrigley Field with her family.
