Ariadna Quattoni is a computer scientist researcher specializing in Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP). She is a professor at the Computer Science Department of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona and the co-founder of the US based company dMetrics. She has published more than forty publications on most of the leading ML and NLP conferences. Her most recent research focuses on the development of new ML algorithms for NLP, with specific interests in semantic parsing, compositional generalization, and interactive learning methods. She has been awarded and led several research grants from both European and American funding agencies. Currently, she is the principal investigator of the European Research Council (ERC)-funded project INTERACT (Interactive Machine Learning for Compositional Models of Natural Language), which aims to create AI systems that require minimal human intervention and fewer data to learn specific tasks.
