With over a decade of experience in software development, I currently serve as Chapter Lead at AXA, leading software developers across four cross-functional teams. I oversee IT operations for the entire health insurance landscape, driving efficiency improvements through new technologies and simplified processes. Before AXA, I was Lead Software Developer at DeepUp GmbH, where I contributed to scaling the company from startup to scale-up, building a cloud-based application landscape. What truly drives me is my passion for coaching, supporting, and empowering developers to grow in their careers.

Leading for Green Impact

Sustainability is no longer a side topic — it's becoming a core responsibility in tech leadership. But sustainable software isn't just about energy-efficient code or carbon-aware cloud choices. True impact happens when tech leads empower their teams to think and act sustainably — at scale.

As a tech lead, your influence can amplify far beyond what you build yourself. By growing people who understand the environmental impact of their decisions, you help create teams that design for sustainability, challenge wasteful defaults, and build tech that lasts.

This talk explores the key leadership skills that enable sustainable thinking in engineering teams — from cultivating ecological awareness, to guiding architecture decisions, to mentoring with long-term impact in mind.

You’ll learn how to:

Inspire your team to factor sustainability into everyday technical decisions

Coach environmentally conscious thinking and challenge short-term trade-offs

Use your influence to advocate for sustainable defaults in architecture, tooling, and infrastructure

Build a culture of responsibility and long-term product thinking

Walk away with strategies that not only grow your people — but also help your teams build a greener future through technology.

Leadership That Scales Through People

Your greatest contribution as a tech lead might not be what you build — but who you empower.
As tech leads, we often focus on delivery, architecture, and keeping the team unblocked. But to truly create value, we must go a step further: by growing individuals who not only execute well, but also understand the business, make smart decisions, and act with ownership.
Walk away with concrete tools, proven strategies, and fresh inspiration to grow the people around you — and multiply your leadership through them.

• Learn how to identify and grow business awareness within your team.
• Discover practical ways to coach ownership and proactive thinking.
• Get frameworks for developing communication and collaboration skills.
• Understand how to turn delivery focus into strategic team impact.
Walk away with actionable tools to empower individuals and scale your leadership.

Beyond code: How to take the next career step?

While we developers have learnt over the course of our careers how to tackle new technical challenges and frameworks, many of us struggle with our personal career development. Once we have reached senior status, there is a lack of clear requirements and expectations of us. Without the classic career ladder as in other professions, we are challenged to take our development into our own hands.

In this presentation, we will explore together the essential skills we need to advance our careers. The focus will be on practical approaches with concrete recommendations on how we can optimally position ourselves through a strategic approach, soft skills and our technical abilities.
We will also explore together how we can best utilise our leadership skills. I will share my experience as a developer and as a manager with you.

Let's find out together how we can advance our careers in a self-determined way!

learning objectives:
-Career development: strategies for professional development
-Advanced skills: Insights into communication, leadership and business acumen
-Networking: Building and utilising professional networks
-Mentoring: Benefits of mentoring and finding mentors
-Influence and impact: Scaling influence without authority and impact
-Continuous improvement: Lifelong learning for competitiveness
