Dr. Asha Jeffers is an assistant professor in English and Gender and Women’s Studies at Dalhousie University, in Halifax, Canada. Her research focuses on literature about the children of immigrants – the second generation – across national and ethnic lines, with a particular emphasis on how gender construction intersects with second generation subjectivity. She is the co-editor of The Daughters of Immigrants: a Multidisciplinary Study.
