A. Stryker
Threat Intelligence Analyst
Actions
Stryker is a cyber threat analyst at a major US insurance company, where she translates technical research and qualitative intelligence into the "so what?" and "what now?" solutions that keep more people safe and secure. You can find her on LinkedIn, Mastodon, or in the Lonely Hackers Club (LHC) Telegram chat, where she once (in)famously ranted about how commercial gun safes do not make for secure off-site data storage options. Stryker lives in Baltimore, growing parsley for butterflies and algae for shrimp.

Career Campaigns: Changing Your Professional 'Class' for an InfoSec Role
Hack your way into a new cybersecurity career during this RPG tabletop session – err, gamified and interactive talk – inspired by my own mid-career pivot into cyber threat intelligence from an untraditional, non-IT background.
Together, we'll revise your current "character class" resumes so infosec hiring managers will understand how your previous strengths will assist their team, while adjusting "final boss" interviewing tactics to win the career-search campaign – and earn a place on your first cybersecurity team.
After this session, attendees will:
1. Better demonstrate how their previous (non-infosec) experience is both needed and desirable to infosec hiring managers.
2. Take home skill-to-skill "translation" lists, easy interview answer reframing guides, a primer on infosec certifications, and other materials to help their job search.
3. Enjoy an interactive, gamified talk format influenced by popular tabletop campaigns!
