Docker On Windows 101
Docker was once only for the Unix ecosystem, but now the containerised goodness is also native to Windows — well, its getting there!
In this talk, we'll take a hands-on approach to getting started with Docker running on Windows 10, including both Windows- and Linux-based containers, in order to package up your .Net Core application or service.
We'll also look at how you can expose your local development environment to the web for testing using a service called 'Argo Tunnel', by Cloudflare.
After this talk, you'll hopefully understand the core Docker concepts and know enough to go away and start exploring Docker on Windows by yourself.
Infrastructure As Code: Terraform 101
As a developer, you might dread the thought of being asked to reconfigure servers or deploy new infrastructure but why? Treat your Infrastructure As Code!
In this talk, we’ll walk through how you can re-use your skills as a developer and apply those to the the concept of Infrastructure As Code. We’ll also cover the various benefits it can bring such as being able to version your infrastructure just like your application code.
We’ll then learn how we can apply this concept using Terraform by Hashicorp which allows us to manage and stand up your infrastructure using providers such as Microsoft Azure and Cloudflare with ease.
After this talk, you’ll have learnt the concept of Infrastructure As Code and how to get started with managing your infrastructure with Terraform.
