Beta leads the development of the Crystal Programming Language since 2021. He is also teaching programming languages at Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (Argentina) since 2015. Before jumping to Crystal, he was a programming language researcher in the topic of Dependent Types. He got a PhD from MPI-SWS (Germany) and gave a dozen of talks targeted to different CS audiences at conferences worldwide.
