Ability vs. Perceptions - Who cares what they think?

Have you ever wondered how the "go to" person in your department became that way? If so, then this session is for you.

Often the answer is surprising. Those folks are not usually the smartest on the team, but we have the perception that they always know the answers.

This session will teach you simple steps and principles to build on your skills and become the leader you are meant to be.

After attending this session, you will understand exactly what makes that "go to" person really stand out. Better still, if you are willing to put in some additional work, YOU will be the next "go to" person.

.Net Workflows - What are they, and Why Should you Care?

Many business processes are so dependent on other processes. It's hard to keep them straight even after you understand them! And, as the business processes change we not only have to keep up with those changes but also mitigate effects it has on other processes and other systems. Leveraging workflows is a great way of understanding business processes. But, what is the best way for us developers to understand and work with workflows?

In this talk, you will understand how to evaluate existing processes and how to create new ones. You will also see how .NET Workflows empowers us developers to more easily manage workflows to make our lives less stressful. At the end of the talk you will have resources to help you as you implement the strategies and tools mentioned.
