5 Steps to Optimizing Your Observability Investment

Telemetry data is great… until it becomes overwhelming. A lot of maturity has happened around standardizing the formats of telemetry data as well as methods for producing and collecting telemetry data. Organizations large and small have taken notice and begun their journey towards instrumenting their own apps and infrastructure to reap the benefits of better observability. But along the way, one unintended result has happened- we've been so focused on instrumenting and collecting data that we've become overwhelmed by the volume of data we are capturing. And not all data is high-value data.

In this session, we will introduce the concept of a Telemetry Pipeline and explore steps SREs and others can take to optimize their telemetry data. Learn key considerations for ways of using a Telemetry Pipeline to filter out noise, retain valuable data, manage telemetry volume, convert events into metrics, and ultimately cut down operational expenses.
