Brenton has been a principal figure in introducing blockchain technology and cryptocurrency to Africa. He was among the youngest members to join the IFWG, a South African Reserve Bank initiative, to regulate cryptoassets, actively contributed to the South African National Blockchain Alliance (SANBA) and the Crypto Asset Association of SA (CAASA).

In his two-year stint as one of the African leaders for Binance, Brenton was instrumental in launching and growing their presence in Sub-Saharan and East Africa.

With a wide-ranging impact, Brenton has served as a mentor, judge, and guest lecturer at organizations such as SeedStars, CV Labs, UCT Financial Innovation Hub, Global Startup Awards - Africa, and the Paxful-backed Africa Blockchain University.

Currently, Brenton is the Principal and Head of Growth at Africa’s premier blockchain-specific early-stage VC fund and accelerator.
