Cloud is a Pattern, Not a Place (30 min)

Making the case for a DevSecOps cloud operating model to staff who've worked for decades in the legacy world is painful. You've heard their retorts: "I'm not a coder". "ClickOps is faster and better". "I'm only going to build this once, writing code is overkill". "DevOps is not my job".
Join Brian Moore to hear the brilliant and engaging allegory he uses to win holdouts to his side. It's not "Cattle vs Pets!" You've never heard it before, and you'll walk away eager to share it with your own company.

I used to go round in circles explaining why skeptics needed to evolve and adopt DevSecOps. Then, I delivered this talk internally to my department, and everyone loved it so much that we repeated the presentation across the company, and again to our latest batch of new grad hires. HashiCorp invited me as a guest speaker at one of their marketing events at NASA last year. This allegory outlines the fundamental differences between the legacy on-prem model and the cloud model in terms of security, processes, and technology. It explains why ultimately a DevSecOps operating model is required in order to scale and to stay safe. It's non-technical and wonderfully relatable. You won't want to miss it!
