Poor technology often leads to poor results.

Before Rise8, I spent 10 years in Active Duty Air Force, and for the first seven, I was an intelligence officer using really terrible software.

After seeing the impact of horrible software on the battlefield during my deployments, I hung up my intel badge, pulled strings to get an assignment to Hanscom Air Force Base as an acquisitions officer and called Defense Innovation Unit Experimental to start the other transaction authority that would lay the groundwork for Kessel Run, the DoD's premier DevOps organization.

My passion and mission in life has become ensuring that the DoD is the disruptor, rather than the disrupted, on the battlefield. For me, that means transforming DoD IT into a software company that wins wars. So I left the Air Force and founded Rise8.
