From Cloud to Pi: Zero-Trust Artifact Distribution to Edge & Remote Sites with Harbor Satellite
Kubernetes has evolved far beyond traditional cloud and datacenter deployments, increasingly powering workloads in edge sites, airgapped environments with intermittent connectivity, limited resources and remote locations.
We will show a live fleet of Raspberry Pis running lightweight kubernetes on stage with poor network to demonstrate how a simple app update will choke your entire edge cluster. And how a single image pull can quickly lead to cascading failures, resulting in ImagePullBackOffs and total service disruption.
We will show how to prevent this and numerous problems on edge with Harbor Satellite, a subproject of Harbor which acts as a lightweight, decentralized registry at edge optimizing bandwidth & artifact delivery. We will also showcase its advanced capabilities such as automatic onboarding with no static secrets, HA and adding resiliency to your remote clusters.

Beyond ImagePullBackOff: A Stateless, Secret-less Distributed Registry for Edge Workloads
We have all seen it. Your GitOps tool reports Synced in seconds, but your edge node pods are stuck in ContainerCreating/ImagePullBackOff for minutes... hours. This is not just a low bandwidth problem. it is a fundamental design flaw. We are trying to apply a centralized, cloud-native architecture to a decentralized, distributed-systems problem.
This leads to slow startups, failed updates even worse pullSecrets on every node create a massive security risk. In this session with Harbor Satellite (subproject of goharbor) we will run a stateless distributed registry along with your container workloads

What's new in Harbor Project Updates and New Features.
we have recently released a new version of harbor. we will go through new and less used features in harbor. that would make managing artifacts at scale much easier. and we will also give you a sneak peek into the exciting features planned for next releases.
Harbor Maintainers talk - Role of Harbor in AI, IOT Edge and the future
In this Ai Era, we are witnessing a demand to efficiently store AI models.
Harbor has become a critical tool for efficiently storing containerized applications and OCI artifacts including AI models.
As early adopters of CNAI model specification, we are leading a standardized approach to store and manage AI models.
Additionally, We will also discuss about Harbor-Satellite a sub-project of harbor which extends harbor registry capabilities to the IOT Edge. It is focused on simplifying delivery of containers and OCI artifacts to the edge easier.
Building Secure Containers: A Practical Guide to Vulnerability Scanning and SBOMs
Containers are ubiquitous. Despite being the foundation of contemporary progress, their security is frequently disregarded.
We will use Harbor, an open-source container registry, makes container security and management easier in this talk. We will containerize the apps, check images for vulnerabilities, and implement best practices to create safe, 0 CVE, production-ready containers through a live demo. We will also delve into more complex ideas like supply chain security and SBOMs.
Standardizing the Unstandardized: Authenticity and Provenance of AI Models
The AI ecosystem is Wild West. no consistent packaging, varying model formats, supply chains lack transparency, no clear provenance, trust and security is optional. We introduce how ModelSpec (an OCI-based specification from CloudNativeAI) and KitOps (a CNCF sandbox project) bring cloud-neutral, secure packaging, signing, and verification to AI models, just like containers. By reusing the OCI ecosystem, already supported by container registries like Harbor. So, people can now version, audit, license, and securely distribute models with clear provenance, reproducibility and compliance built in.
