Finding regression bugs before QA using Selenium and Azure DevOps CI
Regression testing is tedious and time consuming. It can tie up your valuable QA resources after every production push. In an environment that adheres to Continuous Delivery principals this problem can compound based on release frequency. This is where automated testing can alleviate some of your QA resource shortfalls. Without dedicated developers, however, your existing development resources need to be dual purposed as test writers, another tedious and time consuming task.
In this talk, I will introduce you to some free tools that will allow you to record Selenium tests in a browser and export them into a format that is more palatable, be it Java, C#, Python, or Ruby. We can then introduce them into your continuous integration pipeline to create an automated end-to-end testing setup. Finally, we will look at some deeper integrations available in Azure DevOps that allows you to tie your tests to test cases, for greater insights.
