As an early adopter of technology, Christina has had a long career in the industry. Fresh out of college, she worked for Boeing and developed one of the first payroll automation systems on the IBM 360 when few people knew what a computer was. After raising a family, she returned to the workforce at HP in software sales. Her success in sales led to advancement into corporate partnerships, becoming VP of Strategic Alliances at Nimbl followed by Worldwide Director of Partner Sales for Compuware where she learned about the critical talent shortage in Enterprise Systems. For Christina, this was an opportunity to help the highly skilled refugees living in the US while filling a critical talent shortage in technology. In 2018, she started a pilot program with the help of IBM, Emily Griffith Technology School and a refugee agency, Lutheran Family Services. With the success of her students, she began a training and job placement nonprofit called TechNation Careers. They have trained many New Americans with the assistance of Regis University and the City of Denver, helping them find jobs through partnerships with community and employer relationships. This is life changing because most are stuck in low wage positions and now have the opportunity to buy a house and become self-supporting.
