Christina Hiemstra is the Strategic Program Manager of Twilio.org. In this capacity she develops partnerships between Twilio and humanitarian and development organizations such as UN agencies, Gavi, the IFRC and international NGOs around communication with the people and communities they serve.

Before joining Twilio, Christina held various positions in the aid sector with the UN and international organizations and worked on program design, implementation and management, humanitarian policy development, innovation, and oversight. She worked in countries and regional emergencies across the world including Afghanistan, South Sudan, the Lake Chad basin (Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria), the Sahel and the Horn of Africa. She is passionate about finding new and pragmatic solutions for communication challenges and believes that meaningful communication begins with listening.
