Lessons from a 2 Year Quest for Belonging
My years of exposure to toxic behaviours in the workplace were not a badge of honour. Indeed for me, these scars left me with everlasting questions of 'Why do we opt to stay in toxic work cultures?' and 'How can a toxic culture ever be changed?' The values idealised by the Agile community made me want to search for belonging there; and thus my quest began...
In this session, I will share a story about belonging starting in London (UK) during the heights of the pandemic until now continuing on the shores of Kingston (Jamaica). You are invited to explore the concept of Belonging with an open mind and heart. Is there a universal construct of what belonging should look or feel like? How is belonging in a community achieved?
