CHUCK RETTIG, served as Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (2018–2022) and is now a Shareholder at Chamberlain Hrdlicka in the Firm's Tax Controversy & Litigation, Other Tax and Trust & Estate practices. As Commissioner, he presided over the nation’s tax system, managing an agency of more than 83,000 employees and an annual budget of more than $14.1 billion generating annual gross revenue of approximately $4.9 trillion (representing more than 95% of the gross revenue of the United States). In recognition of his IRS leadership, Commissioner Rettig received the Alexander Hamilton Award, the highest honor for individuals selected by the Treasury Secretary.
