Colleen Galvin Labbe has been an educator for over 20 years, as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and instructional coach working with educators to align SEL practices in and out of school. She has held teacher leadership roles in her district and state, most recently as a member of the Safe & Supportive Schools Commission; and has presented in national conferences focused on integrating SEL in instruction. Her work around co-creating Think Spaces in classrooms has been highlighted by The Boston Foundation and the Trauma and Learning Policy Initiative. She believes that when we approach SEL through an equity lens, it has the power to create learning environments where students feel a sense of belonging, develop positive identities, and are empowered to become changemakers. Colleen is dedicated to advancing practices that promote tSEL in school communities and is currently the Lead Social-Emotional & Academic Development Instructional Coach in the Boston Public Schools.
