In her role as a Program Officer at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Cynthia manages a broad-based grants portfolio (including sports-based youth programming) aligned with the Foundation’s TogetherATL strategy to bring about more equitable outcomes for all residents of our region. Originally from Puerto Rico, Cynthia is a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology, a certified trauma specialist and a restorative justice practitioner. Before joining philanthropy, Cynthia was a career victims’ rights advocate and served 14 years in the court system supporting survivors of complex trauma, developing trauma-informed community programs, and providing specific training for public safety.
