Dan Riordan, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Pacific University’s School of Learning and Teaching. Within his teaching and research work, he focuses on teacher well-being and incorporating effective and equitable teaching practices. A recent graduate of the University of Denver, his dissertation explores the social and emotional well-being of first-year teachers. Pacific, he has worked to infuse well-being and social-emotional learning into the school’s curriculum. He collaborated with two of his colleagues (Mark Szymanski, PhD, and Corissa Mazurkiewicz, PhD) to create a course that explores the art and science of human flourishing and its role in cultivating resilience, transformation, and sustainability in ourselves, our communities, and the planet.
