Dr. Daniel Tuoyo Amiwero is an accomplished geologist, lecturer, and research innovator with about 20 years of experience in mineral exploration, geological modeling, and ethical mining advocacy across Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. He currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Marine Geology at Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Warri South-West, Delta State where he teaches courses in Mineral Exploration and Engineering Geology.

He holds a B.Tech in Geology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna; an M.Sc. in Engineering Geology from the University of Benin; and a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Ilorin, with a research focus on applied geotechnics and mineral resource development.

Dr. Amiwero is the founder and convener of the DanWura Ethical Mining Initiative (DEMI), which promotes responsible sourcing and transparency in Africa’s artisanal mining sector.

Dr. Amiwero has presented his work at national and international conferences and is deeply committed to fostering innovation and policy alignment for the future of energy and resource security in Africa.
