Daniele Mario Areddu is a Computer Science student at the University of Calabria and a freelance developer. He works on applied Artificial Intelligence projects, focusing on the fine-tuning of language models and the development of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems to enable more contextual and intelligent human–machine interactions.
In the field of web development, he builds full-stack applications using Angular for the front-end and Node.js or Python(API REST,Flask etc.etc.) for the back-end, with a strong emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and user experience.
He is also passionate about game development, creating Minecraft plugins and mods in Java, and prototyping games with C++ in Unreal Engine, where he integrates AI-driven NPC behavior and advanced gameplay mechanics.
A tech enthusiast and speaker, Daniele frequently participates in workshops, conferences, and events focused on digital innovation and AI. He is the community lead of Velletri-Dev, organizing meetups and events for students and developers in the Velletri area. He also collaborates with UNIDEA as a Change Model Specialist, promoting digital transformation and a culture of innovation
Since May 2025 he has been collaborating with CaLab.Ia, an innovative company in the world of AI, as Director of the technical department.

Entrenar un cerebro: ¿fine-tuning o RAG para una IA que realmente sabe de lo que habla?
En los últimos meses he trabajado en un proyecto donde necesitaba que un modelo generativo respondiera con precisión dentro de un dominio muy específico. El objetivo no era generar texto genérico, sino obtener respuestas coherentes, pertinentes y basadas en contenidos fiables.
En esta charla compartiré lo que he aprendido comparando dos enfoques diferentes: el fine-tuning, donde el modelo se reentrena con un dataset personalizado, y el enfoque RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), que enriquece las respuestas recuperando información desde una base de conocimientos externa.
Hablaremos de:
• Cuándo conviene realizar un fine-tuning y cuándo, en cambio, es mejor optar por un enfoque RAG.
• Una visión general del flujo de trabajo de ambos enfoques: desde la preparación del dataset hasta la infraestructura en la nube y los scripts en Python.
• Cuáles son los costes, las complejidades y las ventajas de cada opción.
• Cómo cambia el control sobre el contenido, la capacidad de actualización y la interpretabilidad de las respuestas.

PA e cittadinanza digitale: co-progettare una soluzione
Workshop sulla Facilitazione Digitale
Unidea APS organizza un workshop sulla Facilitazione Digitale ad Ascoli Piceno, coinvolgendo istituzioni e cittadini per sviluppare un modello di educazione digitale inclusivo e sostenibile. L’evento segue un primo incontro tenuto a Trento, arricchendone i risultati con nuove proposte e collaborazioni.
L’obiettivo è creare un framework condiviso per migliorare l’accesso e la consapevolezza digitale in Italia. Il laboratorio prevede:
- Analisi dello stato attuale dell’educazione digitale, identificando le principali barriere (infrastrutture, formazione, consapevolezza e supporto alle famiglie).
- Co-creazione di soluzioni pratiche, favorendo il confronto tra enti pubblici, scuole, organizzazioni no profit e aziende per sviluppare un piano operativo efficace.
Come volontario, contribuirò attivamente alle attività del workshop, supportando la collaborazione tra i partecipanti e facilitando la discussione sulle strategie di inclusione digitale.
