Dansturn Kimbowa is Co-founder and Operations Lead at Nearly Free Energy, building community-owned microgrids using open-source energy infrastructure in Uganda. A registered electrical engineer with 10+ years’ experience in grid integration, substations, solar-grid systems, and utility operations, he previously led engineering projects at Umeme Ltd, including solar integration into Uganda’s national grid. He now leads deployment of resilient community microgrids and DER systems.
