Darrell Howell is a finance and operations executive and the Founder & CEO of RoofIntel, an independent property decision platform beginning with residential roofing in Nashville. RoofIntel helps property owners understand what major projects should reasonably require and cost before contractor pricing becomes the frame of reference.

He also founded ScaleSmart Advisory, where he provides fractional CFO and COO support to privately held businesses, with a focus on cash flow, profitability, forecasting, operational systems, risk management, and growth.

Previously, Darrell served as Chief Financial Officer of Bluebird Roofing and as a Consulting CFO at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen). At Bluebird, he helped expand the company’s offerings into retail roofing, windows, siding, and commercial roofing while improving financial reporting and cost control. At CLA, his work included financial reporting, forecasting, cash management, and equity management transitions.

From 2015 to 2021, he provided CFO, controllership, and finance and operations leadership to privately held businesses across construction, real estate, distribution, and service industries. He began in an independent advisory capacity and later moved into an embedded corporate finance leadership role with a privately held construction and real estate group. In that role, he directed finance and accounting across three related entities, managed a team of eight, and oversaw approximately $40 million in budgets.

Darrell holds an MBA in Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University and bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Management from the University of North Alabama. His interests include Tennessee Volunteers football and basketball, golf, and travel.
