Using Intent Based Access Control to Achieve Zero-Trust Deployments

Implementing and maintaining access controls, mTLS certificates, and other avenues of securing the services inside your Kubernetes cluster can be complex, time consuming, and at times fragile. This fragility and complexity can lead many implementers to ignore the benefits of such security measures.

In this session I'll explain what Intent Based Access Control (IBAC) is, and how it can help reduce the complexity -- and thus increase the likelihood of compliance -- of implementing zero-trust within your cluster.

How I learned to deploy network policies to a Kubernetes cluster without knowing anything about them

I took a job recently as Head of DevRel at a Kubernetes company. I know noting about Kubernetes, so I started learning. It is such a vast subject area I knew it would take forever. But using the tools from Otterize, I managed to roll out Network Policies to a cluster in under 5 minutes, creating a zero-trust cluster, and guess what? I still know nothing about Network Policies!

In this talk I'll show you how I used Intent Based Access Controls (IBAC) to quickly secure the services without making a major project out of it. At the end of this talk you likely won't know anything more about deploying network policies, but you won't need to.
