How OpenAPI in combination with .NET Core boosted effectivity at my work

A lot of people do not know what benefits does OpenAPI and tools related to it actually bring. OpenAPI can improve your whole development pipeline including design, documentation, implementation and quality assurance phase. You can integrate OpenAPI to your pipeline to boost your effectivity in every step of it.

We started working on a new project that consists of a server and client part written in .NET Core. The client consumes REST API provided by the server. Every change to the API meant a lot of boring, repetitive and non-creative work, mainly on the client side. To increase our effectivity and make our work more enjoyable we have decided to change the process of how we work with our REST APIs.

We introduced OpenAPI and started with something that we call Specification-first design.

In my talk, I will show how we use OpenAPI during development and how we integrated it in every step of our development pipeline (design, documentation, implementation and quality assurance).
