Dawit Bekele is the Regional Vice President - Africa of the Internet Society, an organization that works for an open, globally-connected, and secure Internet. Before joining the Internet Society, he worked at Addis Ababa University in teaching and research positions, in computer science. He also started and ran a private company for Internet-related services.

Dawit is an Ethiopian citizen. He received undergraduate, Master and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, from Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France. He also holds a master’s in business leadership from the University of South Africa.
