With this year's focus being on Responsible AI, we show you exciting new ways to build and use AI in a fair, ethical, and responsible way.


So whether you are into tech or not, Join us at DEVFEST Bamenda x Bambili 2024 on the 30th November, to get inspired, meet and connect with new people, explore and learn new things and build your knowledge in tech.

We are therefore inviting you to share your knowledge and experiences with the DEVFEST Bamenda X Bambili 2024 community. Whether you’re an experienced speaker or trying it out for the first time, we welcome everyone, particularly women and newcomers, to submit a session proposal.

🧩 Introduction
Welcome to the Call for Speakers (CFS) form for to Devfest Bamenda x Bambili 2024. We are excited to have you consider speaking at our event, and we appreciate the time you're taking to submit a proposal. This year, ℹ️we are excited to explore the theme Responsible AI. An important topic shaping the future of technology

To ensure your submission stands out, please carefully read through the guidelines below, which will help you craft a compelling proposal and deliver a session that resonates with our audience.

🗣️ Speaker Sections
Here's a guide to help you navigate the different sections:


1. Personal Information

  • Name: Your full name as you'd like it to appear in the program.
  • Email: A reliable email address for communication regarding your submission.
  • Biography: A brief biography highlighting your expertise and experience in your field.
  • Photo: Provide a professional, clear photo of yourself, preferably square, in the formats of JPG or PNG.
2. Media Links
 Be sure to provide links to your  social media profiles (LinkedIn, Twitter, GitHub, etc.) and any relevant personal websites or blogs so we can tag you.

3. Session Details

i. Title:
A catchy, informative title for your talk will be best

ii. Description:
Write a  compelling summary of your topic or session. Be sure to highlight the key takeaways and the value it will bring to the audience.

iii. Session Type:
You can include either a talk, workshop or other sessions to cater to different learning styles of our Devfest audience. Here are some suggested session types along with a short description and recommended duration:

  • Keynote Talk:

Duration: 10 minutes to 15 minutes

As the opening talk for our event, keynote presentations are delivered by industry experts or Leaders. These talk should inspire  attendees, outline key Responsible AI concepts, why it is important, and offer visionary insights that set the tone for the entire Devfest Bamenda x Bambili 2024.


  • Technical Talk:
Duration: 15 minutes to 25 minutes
Technical talks dive into specific areas of software development, often highlighting Google technologies.
Focus Areas: Your topics should primarily cover either
   - Web
   - Mobile
   - AI
   - Google Cloud Technologies.

  • Non-Technical Talk:
Duration: 15 minutes to 25 minutes
Non-technical talks are  presentations that focus on topics outside of pure technical skills or coding. These talks typically address broader issues that influence the tech industry and professionals, such as personal growth, soft skills, leadership, ethics, societal impacts, health or career development. 

  • Workshop:
Duration: 45 minutes to 1hour
A workshop is a hands-on session where participants actively engage in practical exercises or coding activities. Workshops are designed to provide a deeper understanding of a particular technology, framework, or skill. 
Focus Areas: Your topics should primarily cover either
   - Web
   - Mobile
   - AI
   - Google Cloud Technologies.

  • Demo or Live Coding Session:
Duration: 30 minutes to 45 minutes.
A demo or live coding session showcases a particular technology or tool in action. The presenter demonstrates the features, functionalities, and practical use cases, often accompanied by real-time coding examples.

The durations stated above can and may be adjusted based on our number of speakers and time frame for our event. 


👩🏽‍🏫👨🏽‍🏫 Making an Awesome Presentation
Your presentation is a crucial part of your session, and we want to help you make it engaging and memorable. Here are some tips:

  • Start Strong: Begin with a compelling hook or thought-provoking question.
  • Keep it concise: Keep your presentation focused and to the point leaving time for Q&A.
  • Use visual aids: Incorporate images, videos, or animations to break up text and illustrate your points.
  • Tell a Story: Structure your presentation as a narrative to maintain audience engagement.
  • Practice, practice, practice: Rehearse your presentation several times to ensure you're comfortable with the material and can deliver it within the time frame.
  • Make it interactive: Consider incorporating interactive elements, such as polls, quizzes, or group discussions, to keep attendees engaged.

🔊 Public Speaking Tips
As a speaker, you'll be presenting to a live audience, and we want to help you feel confident and prepared. Here are some public speaking tips:

  • Know your audience: Understand who your attendees are, what they're interested in, and what they hope to learn from your session.
  • Make eye contact: Engage with your audience by making eye contact and varying your tone of voice.
  • Use body language: Use positive body language, such as standing up straight and using gestures, to convey confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Handle questions: Be prepared to answer questions from attendees, and don't be afraid to say "I don't know" if you're unsure.

🎬Post-Event Activities
After the event, we'll be sharing photos, videos, and presentations on our social media channels. We encourage you to:

  • Share your experience: Share your thoughts and feedback on social media using our event hashtag.
  • Connect with attendees: Follow up with attendees who attended your session and continue the conversation.
  • Provide feedback: Share your feedback with us on how we can improve future events.
