Anirban Nandy has done his Ph.D. in Resource Management in Entrepreneurship at the Center for Rural Development and Innovative Sustainable Technology, IIT Kharagpur, India. He is now positioned as an Assistant Professor at Siliguri Institute of Technology, India. His research interests include Resource Management, Agri-Business, Artificial Intelligence (AI) & ML, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), Environmental Performance measurement, and Enterprise Development. He is involved in several rural extension programs. He has served as a reviewer for high-impact academic journals. His research publications appeared in esteemed journals and books of international repute such as the Journal of Cleaner Production, Benchmarking, Springer Nature, Global Business Review, etc. While doing his Ph.D. in sub-Himalayan eastern India, his research got deeply connected to the tribal women and smallholders. This involvement led to the formation of “Mobile Library Shiksha Swaraj”, a research extension program under the aegis of "Live Life Happily" a non-governmental organization located in the sub-Himalayan district, Darjeeling, which is headed by a team of academic experts. The research extension works made many headlines in the prominent national and international media. Today, his research extension is connected to over 11,500 tribal beneficiaries and 700 self-help groups (SHGs). This research extension programs focus on providing better education, increment in SHGs’ skill development, better agricultural productivity, higher income generation, and improved welfare services to the marginalized community of our society. Recently, his co-founding Prakalp, the "Ghorer Lokkhi Udyog" has been selected by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, GoI., in all over Darjeeling District with the target to develop over 100 Entrepreneurs from the region.
