Dr. Brooke is a Board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon. Always a barrier breaker, Dr. Brooke was the first African American Dermatologist awarded laser fellowship training at Harvard University where she pioneered the use of lasers in the skin of color. She then founded the Mohs (skin cancer) Surgery Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. She has held faculty positions at Harvard University, Northwestern University, MD Anderson/UT, UNC-Chapel Hill. She currently resides in Chapel Hill NC where, in 2016, she founded her private practice, Skin Wellness Dermatology Associates.

Dr. Brooke’s practice philosophy focuses on patient education and skin wellness. She is a frequent and sought after guest and resource for national and local media on dermatology concerns. She is the author of numerous medical articles, two books Child of Mine: Caring for the skin and hair of your adopted child and Skincare for Runners which will be available this fall. 

An avid runner and Peloton addict, Dr. Brooke has completed 10 marathons (26.2 miles). She is married with three very active children
