Dr. Narviar Barker Browne, MSW, Ph.D., LCCP is a Licensed Social Worker and the author of two books, Child Abuse and Neglect: An Interdisciplinary Method of Treatment. She has written in excess of 40 refereed articles dealing with children, families and minority health. Her professional career consists of educator, administrator, researcher, grant writer, program evaluator, and curriculum design. In her clinical capacity of over forty-five years, she specializes in working with children and families, couples, fathers, and trauma. She has served in the capacities of Department Chair of Social Work, Georgia State University; Associate Dean Whitney M. Young, Jr. School of Social Work, Administrative Director, Department of Psychiatry Meharry Medical College, and Professor at top-ranked institutions. She is the President/CEO of Narolds, LLC, a research-based company that provides on-site training and capacity building solutions that are customizable, aligned, and differentiated to meet focused goals of organizations, academic institutions, small businesses, agencies, and individuals. Dr. Barker Browne is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Spelman College. She has been with Fathers and Family Coalition of America since 2004 and currently serves as the Director of Standards and Program Outcomes for this Organization. She has presented papers at major national and international conferences and has received numerous awards and recognition for her service, including the U.S. President's Call to Service Award. She maintains her clinical practice, research, and supervision of students.

This is a 15-hours, combination in-person and online curriculum leading to a Certificate in Trauma & Resilience: Level One. This curriculum is based on the texts Coping with Trauma and Trauma and Recovery, which allows practitioners to develop the knowledge and skills required for working with adults and children experiencing trauma, and instilling hope, and resilience.

Participants learn from evidence-based course content, case scenarios, multi-media materials, community assignments, and quizzes the foundation of trauma, effects of trauma, trauma-related psychiatric disorders, and how to help trauma clients establish a sense of safety and adaptive resolution.
