Dr. Sonja Gedde is a progressive high school administrator from Colorado who serves as the director of professional development and intervention for one of the largest and most academically decorated secondary schools in the state. Passionate about creating neoteric schoolwide systems and responsive school climates where teachers and students thrive as their authentic selves, Sonja's research and teaching foreground the co-mingling of data-driven theory and rogue practical application. Also an affiliate professor teaching courses in educational philosophy, pedagogy, and communication sciences, Sonja's research and publications focus on the intersections between identity and its situatedness in critical and educational contexts. Dr. Gedde is fortunate to have served every educational context from elementary to graduate level as a classroom teacher, schoolwide interventionist, dean of students, administrator and professor. Recent speaking engagements include ULead in Banff, Canada, the Innovative Schools Summit in Chicago, the International Academic Forum in Honolulu, and delivery of a TedX Talk.
