This was my life prior to October 2019, when I was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia, b sub-type, Philadelphia chromosome positive). Currently, my new job is being a cancer patient and a social worker to other cancer patients and their families. Although I miss my "regular work, I continue my research and writing. (I have published 2 books). I hold several Certifications; Trauma specialist, Expressive Arts Therapist, Integrative Medicine and Nutrition for Trauma Treatment, Mental Health First Aid, Forensics, Hypnotherapy and Addictions.
Here’s part of a bio I used at one of my presentations. I hope this gives some sense of what I do, mostly work-during the day I work with students in the Baltimore County Public school system with IEP’s or 504, or need counseling due to emotional problems, then I come home and treat both adolescents and adults for family therapy using EAT techniques;, and I teach, and I do workshops for clinicians to earn their ceu’s, (continuing education units) and then some cisd (critical incident) work, i.e. disasters and bank robberies and such. Probably one of my most intense experiences was being deployed to Hurricane Katrina down in loo-sey-anna, my caseload was 7000 in the Cajon-dome, in Baton Rouge and Lafayette,
