Dulmini Nanayakkara Sapugahawatte is a Research Fellow, Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, Estonian University of Life Science (Eesti Maaülikool), Estonia . Her doctoral research investigated the characterization of animal and human Group B Streptococcus using phenotypic and genotypic methods. She is current research interest is on the role of bacterial extracellular vesicles in disease pathogenesis and theragnostic. She also interested in antimicrobial resistance in zoonotic bacteria, with special focus on applying whole-genome sequencing for identification of novel antibiotic resistance mechanisms.
